I came across this in a Danielle Steele book. Who said you can't get anything good out of those books? One of my favourite poems and one I read virtually every time I get the urge to travel..........................
 Wander, wander, wandering meandering,
the urge to roam, to dance,
 to fly, to be,
the search for free,
the need to see to go to find to search to do,
my thirsts so easily quenched so close to home and yours so grand,
so elegant,
so marvelous,
climbing mountaintops and elephants and tiger hunts and dancing bears and far off stars and trips to mars and all of it so wild, so vast,
so free,
as you go wander, wander, wandering,
and then the best part of all when,
satisfied, complete, and happy now,
you wander slowly home to me.

 Wanderlust Part Deux

Passport parents reason for travel which also say very well how I feel about travel with my kids “There are no seven wonders of the world in the eyes of a child. There are seven million.” -Walt Streightiff “Two of the greatest gifts we can give our children are roots and wings.” -Hodding Carter These two quotes pretty much sum up why we’ve decided to leave behind our comfortable suburban life to set off as a traveling family. We believe that by giving our children the gift of experiencing the beauty in countries and cultures outside of our own, we might be able to raise compassionate, tolerant children who don’t see skin color, race, or language as defining characteristics of our fellow (wo)man. We hope they’ll learn to discover the individual beauty in the hearts and minds of all people. We want this site to be a catalyst for other parents with similar desires for their children and we want to help them piece together the puzzle of extended world travel as a family which seems out of reach to most of us when we’re busy with jobs, homes, and day-to-day life.
